Welcome to the frequency — start here

The Sunday email, on the web ·

Hey — you're in. Thanks for signing up for the Funk Dispatch.

Quick version of what this is: ArkFunk is the opinionated, local, actually-useful guide to Bentonville and Northwest Arkansas. No Chamber-of-Commerce gloss, no stock-photo listicles — just the real frequency, from people who live here. Once a week, on Sundays, we'll send you the best of it: new guides, trail and coffee intel, and the occasional strong opinion.

To get you started, here's where the good stuff lives:

🏡 Moving to Bentonville: the 2026 honest guide
The flagship. Neighborhoods, cost of living, the tradeoffs nobody puts in the brochure.

Best coffee in Bentonville
Onyx gets the press. Here's where locals actually go — and what to order.

🚵 Mountain biking: the trail system, explained
Coler, Slaughter Pen, Blowing Springs — which trails, for which rider.

One opinionated take

Everyone asks "is NWA really that good, or is it hype?" Our honest answer: it's both, and the gap is closing fast. The trails, the art, and the food are genuinely world-class for a metro this size. The growing pains — traffic on I-49, a housing market that forgot it was in Arkansas — are real too. We wrote the whole argument up in Why Bentonville keeps winning.

A little something for the designers

We pulled a set of color palettes straight from NWA light — Buffalo River dawns, Beaver Lake sunsets, Bentonville brick. The ArkFunk Palette starter pack is free (CSS, JSON, printable cards); the full 12-palette pack in every pro format is $19.

That's it for now. Reply anytime with a tip, a correction, or your unpopular NWA opinion — we read everything. See you Sunday.
